About Hutten

Our story & our drivers

Our story

Hutten was founded almost 100 years ago by the Hutten family with the aim of adding value for employees, clients, guests, and society. Grandfather Jan Hutten dedicated all his attention to baking the finest bread, his son Piet cooked at a Michelin-star level, and under the leadership of Bob, Hutten grew into a nationwide service provider in food, drinks, and hospitality. In this way, we built our company and expertise over decades, always carrying forward the best of what each era taught us. Contributing to people’s happiness has always been at the core of everything Hutten does, then and now.

Our drivers

At Hutten, everything revolves around food that moves people. Hospitality that you feel, craftsmanship you taste, and impact you can see. Our three drivers form the heart of everything we do:

  • Guest first
  • Culinary craftsmanship
  • Chain responsibility

They make us distinctive, unconventional, and above all: truly Hutten.

Guest first

Every organisation is different. That is why we tailor every concept to surprise and connect with guests. In our company restaurants, everything revolves around people: taste preferences, rhythms, culture, and moments in the workplace. That is why our concepts are never standard, but precisely tailored to the needs of our guests.

We study who your employees are, how they eat, what they value, and what experience fits your organisation. In this way, we create places that inspire, surprise, and contribute to health and job satisfaction.

Culinary craftsmanship

Flavourful craftsmanship, straight from our own kitchens.
Food should simply taste good. And good food comes from craftsmanship. That is why our nearly 200 chefs and product developers cook every day with care, creativity, and love for the craft.

In our Culinary Centre, we develop recipes based on the principles of health, taste, innovation, and sustainability. We show that healthy food is not complicated, but rather appealing and surprisingly delicious.

How we do this:

  • We cook as fresh as possible, ourselves and in-house
  • We develop plant-based dishes based on, among others, the EAT-Lancet guidelines
  • We continuously taste, improve, and innovate
  • We focus on pure ingredients and minimal processing

Chain responsibility

From farm to fork, we take responsibility.
We have control over our own chain. And that gives us control over taste, quality, sustainability, and food safety. It makes our “from farm to fork” promise truly real.

This is how our chain works:

Farmers: we work as much as possible with local, regenerative, and organic growers
De Verspillingsfabriek: we save vegetable side streams and turn them into high-quality soups and sauces
Our Care Bakery: bakers with a hearing impairment bake artisanal, flavourful products with meaning
Hutten Culinary Centre: we prepare the foundation for all locations here
Own transport: faster, fresher, and fewer unnecessary steps
Locations: our chefs finish everything, tailored precisely to our guests
